Golden Threads in Word of Life

Salvation History

The curriculum is firmly rooted in Sacred Scripture and the history of salvation. Students will be immersed in the historical reality of God’s entering time and inviting all people into communion with Him. They will go beyond simple knowledge of biblical persons, places, and events and will learn how to recognize and live from their place within this amazing narrative. The narrative will essentially become their own story of salvation.

Christian Anthropology

The Word of Life series teaches students the truth about their identity, dignity, and purpose. Students will learn that it is by living in alignment with God’s plan for us that we will find our greatest happiness here on earth and in eternity. Pope Saint John Paul II’s Theology of the Body is incorporated throughout the series to equip the students to engage with the most pressing questions of our time relating to human sexuality and personal identity.

Heroic Virtue and Character Formation

Word of Life inspires students with a practicality that is often missing in religious education. Students will be presented with practical situations and concrete examples of virtuous and holy character. The series draws from the rich tradition of the Church to explain virtue in a way that is accessible enough for young minds to apply it to their lives. Students, parents, and teachers will all come to know ways to recognize virtue and live it in their daily lives.

Learning through Discipleship

Word of Life models catechesis that shows why the faith matters and nurtures a deepening integration of the faith in daily life through Christian discipleship.  Through witnessing the faith, young people will be inspired to help others in coming to know Jesus Christ in a way that is personal and transformative.
