How should teachers use the Gabriel’s Quest stories?

Half of the chapters in grades 1 and 2 include a Gabriel’s Quest story as a life application option. These stories help students apply what they have learned. They are lighthearted and playful stories with enjoyable and readily identifiable characters, and they complement many of the themes and ideas of the lessons in the curriculum. The Teacher Manual provides a clear lesson-link summary before the story text, as well as discussion questions after the story to help the students draw out the key learning points. Gabriel’s Quest stories can be read in the classroom and with the parents at home. The teacher and parent portals offer a one-page printout of the story narrative, along with the lesson link and discussion questions to facilitate fruitful conversations about the stories at home. The portals also include Gabriel’s Quest videos for use in the classroom or at home. By the end of 2022, the portals will offer Gabriel’s Quest videos for use in the classroom or at home.
