Lesson Planner Guide for Parish Catechists

Although you may simply work directly from your catechist manual, K-5 Catechists also have the option of using a lesson planner outline designed specifically for your grade. To do so, choose the best resources for your class and fit them into your available time.

Using the Planning Outline

Follow These Simple Steps:

1. Pick a plan:
   • 45 minutes
   • 60–90 minutes
2. Follow the lesson steps (Ecclesial Method)
3. Choose the activities that fit your time
4. Adjust as needed

Important Tips:

• You don’t need to use everything
• Times are flexible (within a few minutes)
• Focus on what works best for your students
• Plan to fit your class time—not the other way around.
